Parent Support Programme

Would you like to do more for others or find out a little more for yourself?

Finding out our children or family members have disabilities, health impairments or special needs has been likened to finding yourself on an unexpected journey, one for which there are still painfully few maps or guidebooks. The Following courses are on offer in your area in 2010.

Summerdaze Challenge Fun Day

Staff and Board members from disAbilties Resource Centres Queenstown and Southland got together for a real fun day out. All wore our DRCQ T-shirts as we took the opportunity to advertise our service to local people. We certainly stood out as the only team with a ‘Uniform’. Competing often against children with bags of energy, we did well, reaching the semi-final and winning a box of chocolates that the greedy staff at DRCQ ate all to themselves. The Summerdaze event showed that all sections of the community young to old [er] can get together for a cheap, COMMUNITY day out in Queenstown, run by local people, for local people.
